There's only a couple of things you need to know about www.livingOUTthere.com before you dive in. The first thing is that it's free --- all of it. What's up with that?

Well, you see, I got kind of tired of all these dating, networking, etc., sites that don't really offer much but charge heaps of dollars. They all say "free to register", or "free to use", but with limits unless you pay "supporter" fees, "Premium User" fees, or whatever else they want to call it. Well, that sucks! So I decided it was time we had a site that wasn't going to cost you any money. And that's how www.livingOUTthere.com came about.

So, we're not going to ask you for any money for using the site. You can view as many profiles as you like, see as many photos in profile galleries as you like, send as many messages as you like, read as many as you like, participate in the forums, submit classified ads, read and respond to them, blog, read other members blogs, and do whatever else on the site for free. We're funded by our sponsors whose ads you see on the site. The only thing we limit is the amount of disk space each user has for photos to 2MB for practical purposes. We're not Flicker, but you can certainly put a link to your Flicker account in your profile and share as many photos there as you like. But if you reduce your photos to a reasonable size (640x480, for example), you can still get a heap of photos in your galleries.

The second thing is that www.livingOUTthere.com is a site for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenered folks, their friends, and all that. We're here for dating, hooking up, social networking, exchange of ideas (through our forums and blogs), all in a friendly, fun, and safe environment. Our Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy are designed to make sure that's the case. Please make sure you read them.

You'll want to fill out your profile by clicking Your Profile on the menu, and then choosing Edit to complete your details, add a picture of yourself (which will also be used as an avatar --- the small picture that appears by your posts), and configure setting like whether or not you want to receive eMails if someone send your a private message, or wants to add you as a buddy. Through your account page you can also upload pictures. Once you create a gallery by choosing Create photo gallery, then you can upload and assign pics to a gallery so other members can see your photos.

We've got a few ideas regarding some features for the site, and we bet you will too once you start using it, so let us know. We're a small operation, so it may take some time to implement some things, but we still want the feedback.
